don't the coils rub the upper spring mounts? mine rubbed before when the axle was stock. there was no way i was going to run my coils at that much of angle. i figure they would rub all the time. i know others have said its fine, but i figured if i'm going to all the work, might as well make...
i think you've already seen mine, but here are some pics. I'm using stock radius arms with a 5" sleve (7/8" id, 1 3/8" od) and a custom crossmember. they are mounted slightly inside the frame rails.

Re: swap finished: fullwidth d44 and 9", 38" swampers, radius arms, traction bar, et
yeah, i don't really know what to say about skid. i've seen some pretty crappy welds and welds break as well as some questionable ethics. he supposedly installed a detroit trutrac and a detroit in a...
Re: swap finished: fullwidth d44 and 9", 38" swampers, radius arms, traction bar, et
i've never wheeled at magnet cove. i've met skid a few times here recently. richard was one of the first wheelers i met way back when. he had that white XJ with the big warn "W" on the hood. i heard he...

Re: swap finished: fullwidth d44 and 9", 38" swampers, radius arms, traction bar, etc.
i'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but there are two seperate cross members. the mounts are welded to the unibody and the x members bolt to the mounts.
Re: swap finished: fullwidth d44 and 9", 38" swampers, radius arms, traction bar, etc.
they are a lot better than the ford factory type radius arm mounts. a lot of people will bitch about how radius arms don't flex, but i'm fairly happy with mine so far. i can stuff clear into the body and...
Re: swap finished: fullwidth d44 and 9", 38" swampers, radius arms, traction bar, etc.
i haven't sleeved the entire thing yet. just from a little in front of the first x member to just a little behind the rear x member.

Re: swap finished: fullwidth d44 and 9", 38" swampers, radius arms, traction bar, etc.
the pics above are the only ones i have. if you look at the 5th pic you can see pretty much all there is to see.
the coils are RE 4.5" ZJ coils. i built about 2" of lift into the coil mounts on the axle end.
Re: swap finished: fullwidth d44 and 9", 38" swampers, radius arms, traction bar, etc.
thanks!
no cage yet. i'll redo the rear suspension eventually, but right now i'm tired of working on it and just ready to wheel it!
