    My Rear Storage Solution

Thanks Boss! Sounds like you have a great setup. I need to add OBA next and will likely add it just left of where the fridge goes as sufficient power is close by. What size air tank did you use? Feel free to post a pic.

    My Rear Storage Solution

Thanks dd0! I removed my rear seat completely, cut a piece of 3/4" plywood to fit and that's where the K-9 rides. At 6'3", sleeping in the back of the XJ just wasn't comfortable for me. Besides, when you add a 70 lb Belgian Malinois, it's hard to get the girlfriend in!

    DSLR Recommendations

Here is my opinion based on what I have found through many years of being a camera enthusiast. Get yourself a decent DSLR body but put your money into the lenses. The difference in image quality from the cheap kit lenses and the better quality glass is worth the money in my opinion. As far as...

Thanks Jake. Looks a little different than the last time you saw it, eh?

    My Rear Storage Solution

Decided on a sliding lid rather than hinged. Both the top of the drawer sides and the bottom of the aluminum angle have UHMW tape on them to make things slide nicely.

What to do while oil pan is out

Timing chain - not so lucky. To check for slop you can check with oil pan off. To change it, the timing cover and everything in the way needs to come off. Not difficult, just time consuming. If you do replace it, you're right there to replace the front main seal. I didn't have any oil pressure...

    kayak on an XJ?

I used the Yakima uprights for a while and they worked pretty well when carrying multiple yaks but tended to just flip the boat upside down on the Con-Ferr rack I had at the time when going solo. Ron is so right about bow and stern lines. I prefer the Ratchet Rope type tie downs and use two on...

    Oil filter opinions

My opinion of Fram filters has not changed. Been using them for as long as I can remember with Quaker State oil. I'm pretty anal about sticking to a 3000 mile oil/filter change and always do the work myself. The last three XJ's have all been high mileage (180k +) and my current 2001 XJ is...

    Off Road GPS?

+1 on this setup. The iPad screen size is great (Helen Keller could see it), the Motion X apps work great (I use both Motion X GPS Drive and GPS HD) and being able to compose your GoPro, control it's functions from the drivers seat and being able to see when it gets knocked off your Jeep is darn...

    My Rear Storage Solution

Finally got tired of my camping gear and other items being so disorganized in the back of the XJ that I decided to build a fridge slide / storage drawer. Slides lock-in / lock-out and are a bit overkill at being rated at 500lbs. Turned out pretty well, just wish I knew how to weld aluminum as...
