So, I think I have tracked it down to a fuel issue. Fuel pressure at the rail is ~31 with the vacuum line at the regulator attached and ~40 when disconnected. However, when it started to accelerate like crap, I pulled over and did the same test and it was ~31 with the vacuum connected or not...

New APN header for sale. Still in box. Cost me $130 plus 20 shipping. Sell for $120. Rather not ship at the moment and will meet someone over in Brigham City if need be. I don't get down to SLC much.

Sorry...but what is the TCU? I will have to try the pulling over and turning the key three times and starting it thing. I know I haven't completely ruled out the fuel pump, but it does seem to give me good pressure at the rail.

So, my 92 aw4 is having difficulties accelerating. Engine runs like a champ when parked, but out on the road it fails to accelerate smoothly and feels like it is bogs down repeatedly while accelerating. Happens at any rpm but is really bad when trying to go up a hill. Noticed it about a month...

I swapped the other way (231 for the 242) and have the leftovers. I am in Logan so you can swing by and pick it up if you still need one.

Update. She is up and running! It was the computer. Pulled one from a 91 at the junkyard for 25 bucks. Also scored some other goodies while I was there. Took it for a spin and runs just like before. Thanks to everyone who responded to my post.

joe_peters, I totally understand your point and appreciate your reply. In the past I have gone down the wrong path and thrown parts at the jeep, to find in the end that it was a simple and cheap fix. However, I feel the problem involves more than just power to the pump. I also do not have...

My pump is pretty noisy so I am used to hearing it right when I turn on the key. As for the relays, I guess I will check them all, check the ECM, and get back. Thanks for all the replies.

I swapped my spare relay (left over from when I disabled the abs a few years back) in for the fuel pump relay and the pump still did not prime.

Yeah, I checked and replaced the fuses. I also had a spare relay that I swapped in for the aux. fan (and other relays where the number matched) and it did not seem to change anything. I have never really messed with relays...are they cheap and can you pick them up at the local parts store? If...
