my 86 2dr has wimpy 2.8l V6 in it (out of an S-10 PU actually) and has a cast aluminum bracket for AC comp and alternator. It broke in two and when I removed it to Tig it, I discovered I could get alt. into AC pump spot... Also, my smog pump mysteriously became an alternator as well... Hmmm...
I HAD same trouble in my 86 2DR... What I did was to remove ALL of the metal trim on the outside and VERY thoroughly (sp?) removed all debris AND rust from the channel where the windshield is glued in (used a die grinder fitted w/ wire wheel). After this was done I primed all bare steel and now...

I was hoping that 4DR was a tad longer! I have been told that when I lift it that I will need longer drive shaft... Was hoping it could come from 4DR donor. Oh well... Maybe I could squeeze rear shaft from blown-up Chevy G20 van currently droping my prop. value. Definitly long...
Can anyone tell me what the wheelbase measurements for two door and also four door XJ'S are...(Stock measurements that is...) I am probably just an idiot, but unable to find by searching, and yes I have thaught of the tape measure... so I guess what I need to know is 4DR wheelbase... Don't have...
