But upgrade to the light harness as soon as you can. You probably will not see as big as improvement as you hoped for without the harness upgrade. Also, keep in mind that you will be drawing a lot of current threw existing wiring (including the head light switch wiring) while running...
If the leak isn't substantial, try adding a bottle of Lucas oil power steering leak additive. We had a leak on our 88 and it sealed it up in a few days!
Has anyone experimented on wiring the HO TPS to the correponding circuits of the Renix? If someone could figure this out, maybe it would be a much 'cleaner install' then modifying the mechanical parts of the TPS. And give another option when upgrading to a HO head, intake, TB, etc.
If you upgrade to this, make sure it is OK with the compressor manufacturer! Certain products (other than R-12 or R-134a) may void your compressor warranty!
Yes, i have also experienced this on son's 88 XJ. After changing the sending unit, the guage was off by about 10 degrees (can't remember if it was higher or lower). When we replaced it we used OEM sending unit from the dealership.
KargoMaster. You can get them in steel or aluminum and unlike confer and some of the other brands, the kargomaster comes with the bottom rails at no extra charge!
I second Valvoline. U can get it full synthetic or in a blend or regular oil. Hilarious comment about Pennzoil! I couldn't agree more, especially after looking at a couple of engine tear downs and seeing all the heavy sludge buildup!
