    All The motor mounts look good. I didn't think to check the exhaust at the down pipe or header. I'm having the axle assemblies remanned now but I'll take a look when the the XJ back and I'll post how it looks. Thanks for the replies and keep throwing ideas!

    Painful to post but I did it to myself. Errrrr!!! 98 Xj 4.0 AW4 NP231 Job: Replacing the transmission mount in the cross member. Lining up the holes and bolts was not as easy as expected and one of the things I did was jack the transmission a titch more and when I did there was a loud bang...
