OK here is the deal, i'm thinkin about getting an MJ. i found one for $200, but the owner says it needs a new camshaft. he said the camshaft bearing is wearing the teeth off of the distributer gear. he says it will crank and run but not for long because this all happens pretty fast. does this...
Hey, yeah I do mean that it is cranking over but not starting. I pulled my distributer wire off and I'm not getting a spark. I'm gonna try to check the CPS today, but I gotta wait for it to warm up a little.:shiver: I'll try to keep everybody posted on my progress so maybe it will help somebody...
Hey, thanks to everybody. I'm gonna check the CPS, I feel kinda stupid cause I didn't check for a spark. I just saw it wasn't gonna crank so I started throwin' parts at it.
I have a 90' XJ that isn't getting fire to the engine. I thought it was the ignition coil but I was wrong. All it will do is turn the starter. what would be my next guess? I know it's hard to diagnose on the internet but what would you check next?
I have a 90' XJ with a lot of the vacuum hoses missing or cut. A mechanic told me that I don't need all of the hoses because most are for emissions control. I need to know which I have to have and which I can do without. I am building a trail rig so it doesn't have to pass inspection, all I need...
hey, i'm going to swap my coils for leaf springs, and before anyone starts up the debate about which is better, i'm gonna do it anyway.:moon: it is an old clunker so if it doesn't work right i can just roll it down a hill. i am thinking about using a stock cherokee leaf pack. has anyone had any...
My biggest problem is that I don't know to do. I have talked to one guy who told me to put leaf spring on the front, then I talked to another guy who told me to put coil springs in the rear. I was thinking about piecing together a setup using parts from different kits, but some fabrication is...
Hey i recently bought my first xj. It is a 90' 4-door with a 4.0. I am going to make it a trail rig and would like to do the suspension myself. My question is should i go coils all the way, or keep it with leaf springs in the rear? If i do go with coils what are the best(and cheapest) options...
