Here is what I am planning on ordering.....according to my research this is all I'd need to bump up to 4.88. Going to hold off on any Locker or Posi upgrade for now.....am I missing anything? Spoke to the mechanic today and his high estimate is $400-$500 per axle...

    Gearing.....4.56 va 4.88's

Going to get some pricing on 4.88's today, found a local shop so no need to make the drive to Fredricksburg. I'll post the estimate at some point today just to get an idea if it's fair....been looking into Electronic Lockers and some Posi systems. I don't really see the need for full Lockers...

    Gearing.....4.56 va 4.88's

Recently lifted, and running 33's.....I've noticed a big difference, and I'm not liking it. I am going to re-gear..question is (and I've searched)..... D30/8.25 I understand 4.56 will get me close to stock, but I'm thinking the Nitro 4.88's are the way to go. Jeep really only see's the...

2000 Cherokee Lift, Wheel and Tire Questions

2000 Cherokee Lift, Wheel and Tire Questions

Well she's done...I'm very happy with the way the Jeep turned out. The only rubbing is at full lock, and it is very minor. The front flares had to have a very small notch trimmed near the front bottom, the shop did an excellent job and unless you are right on top of it looking for it you can't...

Thanks for the replys.....I've decided to go with 16X8 Cragar Soft 8's and BFG AT's 33X12.50 I also found out that a friend of a friend happens to own the local Off Road Shop, and they'll be doing all the work for a real bargain price. Dropped the Jeep off this morning and will be picking it...

2000 Cherokee Lift, Wheel and Tire Questions

May have done this ass backwards but I bought the following and have some questions about wheels and tires. I read back through the first 50 pages or so and didn't find answers that were specific enough (maybe I just didn't understand the terminology) at any rate hoping to get a simple...

Turn Signal Issue (I searched) 2000 XJ 4.0

What I came up with in my search is I may have a bad signal flasher.....but.. I have one difference with my problem then I saw in any of the threads I found in my search. My signals seem to work with the headlights off, with the lights on they give one or two flashes, and stop working. I do...

    Air Conditioning

Yes just the handle, so it just "presses" on...interesting, will break out the hammer this evening. After reading this thread I suspected I have a vacum leak somewhere in the system. F'ng dealership. This thing has been back to the dealership four times for warrenty work. I guess it's true...

    Air Conditioning

I think I may have a similiar problem. Had the Jeep in for A/C work and was told by the dealership that they had to replace an "actuator". A/C seems to blow cold air but it blows primarily through the defroster. I do get a fair amount of cold air from the vents however when I accelerate the...
