Bet my life??? Not sure about that. Okay I looked for the vacuum reservoir you mentioned, but could not find it or maybe I'm not sure what I'm looking for. What does it look like?
You maybe correct. I did not even know I had a vacuum reservoir located inside the right front bumper area. I will check on that when I get home tonight.
Yes, The heat and AC are both blow through the defrost only when turned on. The blower motor works, but vacuum motors to adjust the vent...
Thanks for the info from both. I did as you said and checked the tcase. I could spin the front drive shaft and the front axle would not engage. I also checked the wheels by spinning the the front right tire and the left tire would not turn the opposite direction. I tried this test several...
I have a 84 Jeep XJ 2.5L SelectTrac with front Axle Disconnect. I have had Jeep since it was new. The 4wd seems to be having problems, works sometimes but does not stay in 4wd. Seems to be a vacuum problem. I think it may be the vacuum motor on the tcase and not the vacuum motor on the front...
If it makes you feel any better I am in the process of completely restoring my original 1984 Jeep Cherokee Chief (one of the 1st xj). My plan is to make it look like it just came from the factory, decals and all.
I am looking at buying an 89 Comanche, 6cyl., 2wd, auto on the column that is in pretty good shape. I would rather have a 4wd. Is it hard to convert this and what is needed and would this be to expensive to do. Would it be better to hold out and find a 4wd.
I found shop that says they can do the decals. I would also like to track down a comanche chief. The Chief's are classics and dying out. If you find one buy it, save it, restore it.
I believe the Chief was more like the sport model. It did have some a few extra skid plates, but it was mostly cosmetic differences. Mechanically the same.
Yeah, it is really just light surface rust on the wheel. I plan to sandblast, prime and paint it. I have a full size spare to match in better condition. Thanks for the offer though. You do not see many of these around like mine or yours. I think they are classics. 1984 was the first year...
I took pictures today of it. So you could see the decals, etc... engine and trans is currently being torn apart and rebuilt. See link. http://www.cardomain.com/id/84Chief
Did you ever find the decals you were looking for? I am restoring my 1984 Cherokee Chief and need the decals as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
