    Rusty's Engine Skid Question

Mine did the exact thing when I installed my Rusty's skid. Mine was hitting on the driver side bracket. I just had the local muffler shop remove about 1 inch out of the section of exhaust pipe that crosses over the engine/transmission and no more rattles.

    RE Lift True Heights

Did your jeep come with the upcountry package? If so the factory suspension is 1 inch taller. This would reduce your amount of lift by roughly 1 inch.

Your top five engines of all time?

No votes for the Mercedes 240D, 300D? Those have to be some of the most bullitproof engines I have ever came across. Not great on performance but man those things last forever. I cant tell you how many of those things I maintain in my shop with well over 300k on them and still going.

    alloy axles

You should be relatively safe if you arent locked and dont hammer on it. That would be what I consider the upper limit on those axles. I personally wouldnt go over 33's on a 27 spline 8.25 but there are many that do.

    differences in doors?

Hoods are the same. Doors will interchange. 97 and newer has the larger fold away mirrors and no vent windows. Not a direct plug in on the wiring but it can be done

    Rear shocks.

BTW, I also have a rear pair of RS9000s with JKS BPE's installed that I had on the rear of my XJ when I installed my 3.5" lift. They are in excellent shape and only have 1 wheeling trip and about 3000 street miles on them. I went to 4.5-5" of lift and replaced them with a longer set of RS9000's...

    Rear shocks.

X2 Make sure you rig is bumpstoped correctly and pull your shocks, go ramp it and measure. This way you can get the longest body shock you can fit. Also, this makes sure that you hit your bumpstop before you bottom out your shocks. Remember a 1" longer body shock will have 2" more length at...

Any experience ProComp vs. Rubicon Exp. Leaf springs? 3.5" lift

I usually say stay away from Pro Comp products but I have to say thier springs are pretty decent. I have been running the PC springs in front and rear (full packs) on my rig for about 3 years with good results. No sag, it rides well on the street and it works well on the trail also. I cant brag...

looking for a streetable locker for 8.25

I run Detroit tru-tracs front and rear and I am very pleased. While not a true locker, its much better than factory and practically invisible under normal driving. I would highly suggest the tru-tracks for a vehicle that would be used primarly as a DD with light to moderate trail use.

Edge Products Trail Jammer Performance Kit question

I run the Edge kit on my 99 and I like it alot. Yes, it is overpriced but overall a good product. I definately noticed an improvement in performance (mainly over 3000 rpms) and a slight improvement in fuel economy. I installed the Edge kit, a Banks header, and a custom high flow exhaust from the...

    a tire oxymoron

I love my Toyos. I have run MTR's, Firestone M/T's, and Dunlop Mud Rovers and the Toyos are my hands down favorite. They are not near as noisy as my MTR's were and are not wearing near as fast.

What kind of amp do i need

Crutchfield has good deals on Alpine mono sub amps. Id say anything that does at least 400w rms at 2ohm should do well on those

    Subwoofer...10" or 12", 1 or 2...?

I run a single JL 10w1 in a JL sealed power wedge box with a Eclipse amp (200+ watts RMS) and it sounds great. I went with the sealed box because i was more interested in sound quality than just volume. You can pick the sub/box up for under $200 and Crutchfield has a decent Alpine mono amp...
