I've got an 89 MJ 4.0.
My temp idiot light is always on from when I first start the jeep up. I replaced the temp sender hoping that would solve the problem but it didn't.
I was planning on taking the console off and cleaning contacts, etc, as the "part time" light is also on though I have...
I've been searching for the manual to auto thread I remember from like a year ago. I would be buying a donor 97 4.0 jeep to swap out my peugeot from my 89 4.0 comanche, so any computers, etc would come with. Is there any compelling problem that will crop up with this swap?
Thanks in advance,
Matt
I noticed between everyone there are a number of cars you've picked up the disc brakes from. Crown vic, ford explorer, f250.
What is the criteria that you are looking for? in other words, how do you know which will fit onto a jeep(in my case a D44?) sorta noobish question, but I have more...
89 MJ and after a year of restoring the thing I took it today to town. The peugeot sounds like it wants to explode, but I still love her. Thanks for the diagram that helps a lot, and I think it means I DO have to take the shaft off, correct? Any special tool I need like a slide hammer or just...
First would someone confirm this is a D44? I think I have identified it correctly.
I saw fluid leaking out my drum brake and assuming it was brake fluid, I opened it up to see what was going on. It looks like it was actually the diff fluid I recently had put into the diff. I assume this...
I have this sound and I've been wondering if it could be low fluid in the transfer case. My sound completely goes away at 1:1 ratio(4th gear) but I have it in all other gears, and 2hi, 4hi, 4lo
Also I have a 5 speed
5-90 I was hoping you would answer this post. Thanks, I'll do what you said. Some of it is pretty heavily corroded, like the other side of the fuse block.
I have one other related question: at least one of my fusible links needs replacing(the one from alternator to starter relay post), is...
so I've been having e-demons for a while now and I decided time to excorsize...
I pulled out my wiring harness after reading a bunch of posts on these types of problems. maybe overkill but I want to do this right once and (almost) for all.
check this out
back of fuse box
So anyways no more...
As long as we're on the topic, I do have a college age harness on my 89 MJ and today I was thinking of swapping it out since I am having electrical demons galore. Some of the wires are obviously cracking and such.
I know a 97 XJ harness that I could probably grab for free.. but would it work...
Yeah the internal slave is one of the worst ideas ever.
If its in nuetral there is no sound whether the clutch is in or not. In fact, even in gear while driving there's no sound unless I accelerate, i.e. there is torqe going through it.
dang! I just put in the new clutch kit and I guess if...
SAME PROBLEM HERE... I am going to follow all the advice I heard here and let you guys know. My starter will click, then work with a fully charged battery, last night I was driving and it cut out, fuel pump doesn't hum but now the starter goes, I'll try replacing the power to the starter...
I know one of you genius' will know why this could be. The peugeot is moaning really loud in every gear but 4th. Could there be some reason related to 4th being 1:1 ratio??? would it be the tcase??
If I am not in gear, no moaning, even when moving(so not the axles or motor I think)
Also I...
Thanks. I was having metal scraping sound that would go away when the clutch was pushed in. I have now found that the dust plate was hitting the flywheel, so I hammered that out and also the pilot bearing is not turning too easy. It's a bummer to waste money considering that I think most of...
