    Texas Members?

The thing is, I'm out of a trailer right now. My Jeep does NOT do well on the road. I'd be willing to drive some, but not far until I get another trailer (Probably next August). .....Curt

    8.25 and selectable locker??

I run my 8.25 welded with 33s and no problems. They're a strong axle for sure.

    XJ and v8?

Eagle, go ask C-ROK why he spent all his time and money making a frame for the XJ. He will be glad to know that he has wasted his time and efforts.

LMAO...well said. I've only got about a decade of wheelin' in my XJ and have always wondered what the "hype" was abouta frame...lol

    XJ and v8?

I get it from reading, learning, and personal experiece, my friend. Wasn't saying they didn't make unibodies with V8s. I'm saying if you want to wheel them hard, the unibody needs help, ESPECIALLY with a Big Torqy V8. Heck, the unibody needs help even w/out the added weight and twist of a V8...

    Detroit vs. Lock Right

You guys are killin' me. ALL I'm saying is Lunchboxes are easier on lighter axles. Because (and you can ask any manufactuer or off-road shop) Lunchboxes do allow some slack.

    Detroit vs. Lock Right

No, what I'm saying is it will give a LITTLE easing the strain on your axles. It's better for weaker axles than a full locker is what I'm saying.

    Detroit vs. Lock Right

Agreed, but your axle does not have a higher load rating. If you're running this is a D30 or D35 axle, the strength of the locker can be your enemy. A lunchbox will allow a very slight amount of slipage which will end up saving your dif if you have bigger than 35s. If you're runnin' less than...

swaping a 8.25 27 spline even worth it?

I have found the 27 spline 8.25 rearend to be VERY strong. I run mine w/4.56 gears 33s and welded spiders with no troubles.

    which lift?

I loooover Rusty's don't get me wrong, but as far as over all quality, I'd go w/the RE. I have an Xtreme Dudty LA kit on mine and the ride quality is better than stock. I ran 30x9.50s on my XJ w/no lift and no trimming for a long time w/out problem. So, w/the RE you should be able to get 31s...

    XJ and v8?

Yeah, don't know where that info came from. The XJ is a unibody and really won't handle the power of a big V8 withough some pretty good mods if you're going to use it for anything but the grocery store.
