    Ethanol mixture

Hell ya !!! There is no oil shortage. oil consumption has risen, the ability to refine it, or even drill it has. I started reading this thread about some fellow that tried Ethanol in his vehicle, silly man I think. Lets hear what happened. Instead I find a debate on global warming. I find a...

    ok, will this work?

look at stock XJ leaves then look at a stock truck's leaves. The xj's are thin and not very many leaves. the trucks are usually bigger and have a lot more leaves at different lengths. you will see why the xj's leaves are more prone to axle wrap.

    Hatch Cover Rattle

check the top of the cover just below the window. There is a black plastic thing that goes along the whole length. The cover hooks around over the top of it. The plastic nubs that that holds it the hatch break. That is where mine rattled I could not find until I crawled in the back with the...

    oops!

Not be argumentative at all guys. I rebuilt my 4.0 and ran synthetic for a while thinking it was worth the money. At 5 or 6 bucks a quart, I decided to do a little research. In a nutshell, I am back to plain ol` dino oil and regular oil changes just like I always have.

    oops!

True, dino oil or any oil is good as long as it's clean. I think regular oil changes make the difference. The "sludge" thing with dino oil is not a problem with regular oil changes. lost honda pro, Synthetic motor oils are fuel efficient, extended life lubricants manufactured from select...

    R&R Rad, any advice?

take it to radiator shop and have it rodded out

    oops!

Synthetics are too thin to stay in the engine. Untrue. In order for a lubricant to be classified in any SAE grade (10W-30, 10W-40, etc.) it has to meet certain guidelines with regard to viscosity ("thickness"). For example, it makes no difference whether it's 10W-40 petroleum or 10W-40...

    oops!

switching to dino oil will NOT help you now. a quick fix now would be to replace your seals and gaskets. syn cleans out all the sludge that allowed your seals to dry out. synthetic oil is ok to put in a low mileage engine or a rebuilt with newer seals.

Go get a new tumbler/key from auto parts store for about $12.00. you can also rent the steering wheel puller there too. It's not very difficult or time consuming to just change it out. The same happened to my 90 xj.

    Cowl Hood vs Hood Vents

If I am not mistaken, a cowl hood draws air from just in front of the windshield due to a low pressure area that occurs at speeds. It does not draw air through the radiator. However, hood vents don't draw air at all. I believe they give the air (at low speeds) another place to go besides...
