On my 87 renix, i took out everything but the compressor. I welded standard pipe fittings to the stock compressor fittings, and i am running 1/4 hyraulic hose to front and rear fittings and front and rear lockers. I have my intake running through a lubricator with slick 50, then out with a...
Well i'm not good at solving domestic disputes, but every sensor seems to be kosher. In fear of breaking another bolt off in the block is it worth it to tear apart the intake/exhaust to look for cracks in the header? Anything else i should do with the everything torn apart?
In regards to the grounding wires they are as clean as a whistle
In regards to "uncle bob" lol:roflmao:
But yea i will give the throttle body another once over and keep you posted...
well with the engine running warm and its about 22degrees in my garage i was reading around 26,000ohms does that seem high? shouldnt it be closer to 13,000ohms?
If there are any hippies reading this i didnt post it, but i have the same issue even after replacing the valvecover gasket and ccv lines. I added a piece of vinyl tubing, and clamped it to the rubber boot on the valve cover. I ran the tubing over the intake manifold and dropped it strait down...
well i worked looked at it a little bit before work. got the engine running up around 200degrees, i noticed today that with the engine that warm and running at 1100rpm it didnt change the idle when i unplugged the IAC, O2 or Coolant temp sensor. I just thought it was strange that nothing...
Well yesterday when i tested the O2 sensor and unplugged it while it was running it had no effect on the idle. I cant get a good view of the header but there seems to be no crack around the O2 bung. I'm kinda at a loss, i also went ahead and recalibrated the TPS and checked the Coolant temp...
Hello all, I have a 87 4.0L with 240k miles and it has a high idle issue. The engine starts just fine but will usually idle a little rough at low rpm but once the engine is at normal operating temp the engine will idle around 1000rpm. If I continue to let it run it will increase to 1300rpm but...
I'm in the process of replacing all my stock gauges with VDO vision gauges in my 87xj. Only problem i ran into is that the speedometer i bought is electrical, and the old stock one is mechanical. Does anyone know if the 97-01 xjs had a electrical sender? or if anything else will bolt into...
Well when i go wheeling i dont want people bouncing around in the back, so i took out the back seat and with 14ga sheet metal i extended the same level as the cargo area over where the seat used to be, so now i have a little storage box, with two access doors. PM me if you want pics. Oh yea...

Unfortunately I dont think my jeep is worth $2200. With my homemade OBA system, 3" rough country kit and tires add up to $1200. A lot of the lower body is pretty rusted... its mainly used as a trail rig. I'm kinda looking for the cheapest route for a well running engine. I'm debating swaping...
Yea I'm getting a little tired of my 87 Renix, between not running right and leaking oil everywhere, I'm starting to think maybe an engine swap would be a good idea. I know I wouldnt put a 00-01 engine in... thats just too much electrical for me... I didnt know if I should find a 92 with low...
