Now nothing comes on with key

Year model? I know you had the other thread but I, for one, don't remember your year. Best to always include it up front.

    External Check Valve

OP, are you talking about a check valve external to the fuel tank or external to the in-tank pump assembly? I ask because I assume yours is a '98 and I didn't think you could add valves external to the tank for years beginning around '95. I added an external valve off Ebay (~ $16) to my '93...

    Blower Switch Connector Help

When blower only works on high, it usually means that the thermal fuse is blown. The fuse is the diode looking component wired across two of the terminals in the resistor block.. Resistance across the fuse should be 0 ohms (not just low but 0). The fuse used to cost ~ $2 at Radio Shack (if...

XJ WONT MOVE FORWARD?? EBRAKE ??

Have you jacked up the four wheels while in the locked condition to see which ones won't rotate? And then looked to find out why? What is age/condition of the brake flex lines? General history of brake maintenance?

fusible link replacement for battery cable upgrade

The kelleyswip link is 5-90's (Jon Kelley) site. He was still making cables as of the past couple of weeks or so. I know that he has been out of touch recently and has some kind of problem with email. Del City (http://www.delcity.net/) has a great little video showing how to properly solder...

    Stranded, need alternator/ charging help

A wire has to go to the PCM to regulate the alternator output. Do you have that wire connected? As I said, I think it is the green wire but not absolutely sure. Not sure what you mean by delete the green wire, but don't cut it out and throw it away until we are sure what it's purpose is...

    Stranded, need alternator/ charging help

Look at my response to your previous thread. '96 alternators are regulated in the PCM. When upgrading cables you do not use a fusible link, you use an ANL or Mega fuse. I thought you said you already have an ANL fuse and holder. I believe the green wire from the alt goes to the PCM for the...

    Fusible link HELP

I'm not sure what you've done wiring wise but you mentioned the green wire. Isn't that the wire that goes to the PCM for regulation? It is not the fusible link. The 4 gauge wire from the alternator output goes to the ANL fuse and that in turn goes to the battery + or the positive wire in the...

    AC Conversion question

The average non-tech person such as myself doesn't necessarily need a high-side fitting and lack of a sticker probably means that person (PO or a friend) did your conversion and didn't bother to affix a sticker. Been there, done that. Not saying this is the "right" way to go about things, just...

No Aux fan with A/C or by temp....can I swap ABS relay to test?

That's looks like your problem but why now all of a sudden. You checked the fuse? I've never had the panel out of the PDC but I take it that it's not difficult. Unless someone has a bright idea, that is what I would do. I'm going to replace cables soon so guess I'd better learn. Keep us...

No Aux fan with A/C or by temp....can I swap ABS relay to test?

Lets start over on post 16 that I tried to edit: You should have 12 volts at relay terminal 30 (with or without engine running). On the '93 this is controlled by a 20amp minifuse right next to the relay.

No Aux fan with A/C or by temp....can I swap ABS relay to test?

You checked the 20a fuse in the PDC?

No Aux fan with A/C or by temp....can I swap ABS relay to test?

And you cleaned the relay socket contacts and tried at least two relays. I'm thinking, maybe someone else will think along. Have you checked for 12 volts at relay terminal 30 (and 87) with engine running and A/C on? Take Care!

No Aux fan with A/C or by temp....can I swap ABS relay to test?

Unplug the fan connector and check ohms between the ground terminal in the connector and any good ground on the body or engine. You do not need to check the wire itself end to end. Next check ohms between the positive terminal in the connector and the 87 terminal in the relay socket. (this is...

No Aux fan with A/C or by temp....can I swap ABS relay to test?

On later models they changed it so that fan does not automatically kick on with A/C. I am not absolutely sure what year but I believe '98 or later. AFAIK your '96 efan should kick on with A/C but can't absolutely swear to it. Good point about oxidation. Some years ago I went through similar...
