99 XJ limited
166K
Everything seems to run fine, but when i was checking things for a tune up, i noticed that the shaft has a fair amount of side to side movement, but since it only has a sensor didnt know if this mattered. Or is the standard little to none for movement regardless and in that...
Cool, I had talked to Mike a few months back at aedofab, but couldn't get a hold of him recently so thanks for the info, I will try again. We had talked about him doing lockers front and rear, axles with new tom wood rear drive shaft etc. probably needs all the u-joints done and maybe the upper/...
I am need of near rear end gears, lockers and axles for a 99 XJ etc, does anyone know of a solid local shop around the area of naperville, IL that can do the work? I tried aedofab, but they never answer their phone and I am unable to reach anyone. Thank you
How do i figure out what other years match my current rear end since it has abs etc. its a 99 XJ limited. I thought it had trac loc, but that doesnt seem to be the case in that when i spend one wheel the other wheel goes the opposite direction. Thanks for all the info.
Can anyone recommend a good differential re builder in and around Naperville, il. I know the D35 is hated but this is a stock 99 XJ limited that only sees the street. Thank you.

I have a 99 stock XJ limited that is strictly street driven and have no plans to change that since its the wife's. The vehicle has a D35 with spider gears that are starting to pit, which is starting to make noise and was found today when I changed the fluid and saw nice glittery bits of metal in...
Thanks for the responses, I decided to try heyhar's advice since the spyder gears are pitted and it wont be long before i pull it. So I layed on the right stuff RTF and bolted it back up and then took a few blasts up and down the freeway with no leaks! The jeep is stock and only stays on the...
I was changing the rear end fluid on a d35 and snapped the very top bolt of the diff cover. there isnt enough sticking out to grab it. I've read before not to use a easy out, so what is the best thing to do now? do I grind down what is left and drill it bigger and then use a heli-coil or what...
