I did get out to Jeep Beach this weekend and had a little fun on the course they set up. But even before I got to play in the rocks my steering had gone out.. not sure if it's the pump or the gear box. but I am leaning towards the box at this point.
But it was good to get back into the crawling.
5 years of not doing anything leaves a bunch to get cleaned up.
Repainted the rear end
changed all the fluids
New battery installed
Had to trim some more in the front (really need to push the front axle forward about 2 inches)
Cleaned and a ton of paint correction that needed to be done. Still...
Been a long time since I was active on this forum.... A couple kids, a couple moves, a couple jobs later and really not using the Jeep I was looking to sell the XJ, then after each time it didn't sell, I was relived and figured instead of parting ways I would keep it around.

I just moved from Jax after ten years so I know the area pretty well. Tulsa is in the Southside area so you don't want to live on the west side and have to cross the river every day with traffic.
If you are buying look more towards the east in the intercoastal west area. if you are renting...
Several broken shafts on the d30
Each shaft the broke was with the same axle and gearing.
HP d30, 4.56 gears, Detroit Locker, BTF diff cover, Teraflex OTK knuckle and steering, Yukon shafts

The COG issue is way overstated. My Warrior Products rack with 35" spare and Highlift had very little affect on the COG and never once did I feel the rack weight would put me on my side.
The bigger issue with my rack was how tall it made the profile of the Jeep, so when I would get off...
No it's a Rain Gear LJ cover, I doesn't fit as well as I had hoped. The Wrangler is more narrow and the length is just a tad shy. It works well as a trail cover but in the rain it pools and leaks. Rain Gear is supposed to be making and Extended JK cover that may fit better.
