To make it easy on yourself I would just do what I did cause I only wanted the wj brakes for towing and didn't want to to all the steering mods. Just use your stock steering with a zj pitman arm. It drives like stock and no bump steer.
Ok so I fix the whole light steering today. I got an original stock box from another 98 jeep Cherokee for $27 I then took the torsion rod out of that box and put it in my new reman Napa steering box. It was actually really easy and made it feel heavy just like it did with my original steering...
So I spoke with the owner of the Napa by me today and he looked at it and said the same thing that it’s really easy to turn the wheel. So we decided to give it a week and see if it fixes its self. He also said he was going to call the manufacture and see what they have to say. But in the end he...
If I had bigger tires I could see how this would be great but I don't and it just seems like it is unsafe as there is no road feel whats so ever. As for my wondering issue it is completely gone with the new box so that was def. mi issue. I’m going to take it down to Napa today and let the guy...
So I replaced my steering box the other day in my 98 jeep Cherokee that is stock. With 170 thousand miles on it it had some slop and the pitman arm shaft had a good bit of movement in it.
But now I have tried two different reman boxes one from Napa and one from advanced auto, both have zero...
No Photoshop, the photos were taken with a really clean jeep and lighting was setup. The camera was a digital SLR on a tripod. I'm a product designer/fabricator so here are my portfolio pages of the build. Enjoy
I made this. Custom bumper and winch plate. It uses a 5,500 pound winch. milled the custon fairlead. leaves the bumper end caps in there stock location
How much drop does a wagoneer pitman arm have and is the orientation of the splines the same as the xj ones. What is the taper of the tierod end is it the same as the xj/wj tierods. I'm doing the wj brake swap and have run into the problem where the splines on the wj pitman arm are clocked...
I went to change the inner axle seals on my dana 30 last night and i could not get the carrier out. I pulled the axles shafts and the caps off and tryed prying it out and it will not come out. Please help!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for all the imput, the locker is going in my buddies wrangler. I have an aussie in the back of my cherokee and love it but it does do funky things sometimes. So I think I will tell him to put it in the front so he doesn't know its their when in 2 wheel drive. He drives like 700 miles a...
i agree for that price i would try it $2700 is not hard to get back by selling parts if it doesn't work. i'm sure you could sell the wheels/tires for close to a grand
