I think you can still get it off Ebay. Also if you do a search here there are some cheap ways of converting to 134a which seems to work well.

Saw the first XJ hitting a junk yard in Vancouver WA. Part prices VERY reasonable. No motor available of course.

Tons of them around here. Not sure why they would be hard to find in CA but if need be just search a little wider.
