i'd give the gf the 97 after returning it to stock. the 91 needs work like you said, and it will eventually (if not immediately) need a new cooling system and probably a new suspension and steering setup. You're better off swapping in your lift stuff to the older vehicle and replacing anything...
if you looked at the old fluid in the MC you would have seen it was really dirty. there's all kinds of crap that builds up in there that you don't want in your brake lines.
i hope you didn't let the all the old fluid drain out through the bleeder valves! that could ruin all the seals in the braking system. you need to first suck all the old fluid out of the master cylinder reservoir with a turkey baster or a big syringe, clean out all the junk with a rag, fill it...
I've been searching around for a Lockright for my 8.25 for a while now and I think this is the cheapest I've found. Its $309 with free shipping. Anyone have a better price?

yep. I actually wheeled my 96 from time to time. NO WHERE near as hard as my XJs and the VC is crapping out. I bought it last year in February with 140K (was never wheeled) and now it has 156K and wheeled a few times and the tcase has no clue how to act in any condition. It locks, unlocks...
I guess we wont know what he has until he comes back, if he ever does. But he did state that he has a P/T transfer case. 242 is part and full-time. So who knows.
Oh yah, and it was common for early 4.0 ZJ's to have 249s, which is unfortunate considering how crappy a tcase it is.
I'm pretty sure he has an XJ Laredo, not a ZJ. He said it has a part-time transfer case (ZJs only had them 93-94). For some reason many people, at least where I live, don't know the difference between Cherokees and Grand Cherokees.
Anyway if you have a Cherokee and want an inexpensive but...
trying to move it back into place hasn't helped, the rubber is just shot. so it needs to be replaced.
my guess is it's a fitting for a tranny cooler line? can someone confirm this so I know what part to get?
there is a small stream of coolant leaking from a fitting in the upper left hand corner of the radiator. its hard to see in the picture, but the rubber gasket shifted to one side and the leak sprung out the opposite. should i just loosen the bolt, center the gasket, and hope it doesnt move...
