    Cowl Intake Questions

Thanks Gordo! I have emailed them and will get their thoughts on why they list it as 91+ only, maybe it has something to do with that exhaust line or the vacuum lines or something? Did you do anything with the vacuum lines that were connected with the stock air intake box?

    Cowl Intake Questions

Nice, I see that one takes into account the line coming off the top of the block, I was thinking about going with the THOR kit as it seems to be very well designed also. Appears that one is only for 91 forward, wonder why it won't apply to an 89? I have emailed them to ask.

Thanks! What did you do with the small vacuum lines? I go to Fordyce in Tahoe a fair amount so all 4 river crossings give me pause each time... This will be a very nice addition.

    Cowl Intake Questions

Thanks for the feedback Lazy, I am aware that it is going to be quite a bit louder, but this is a straight beater crawler without exhaust, etc. so it is already loud and obnoxious. I have seen that mod, it is a nice looking alternate method, but I am also very excited to free up some room...

    Cowl Intake Questions

Hello, I have found a couple of great write-ups on the DIY Cowl Intake systems, have also seen the spectre stuff and think that is a great option. Wondering if anyone has any first hand experience on a couple of items: 1) There are a number of vacuum lines going to the stock box, OK to...

On Board Air - Quick Question - Sanden Compressor Connections

hahaha, yea, saw a few of those on McMaster also, way too pricey, and too complex, want to keep it as simple as possible. Ordered the manifold, pop safety, and check valve this morning. Eventually I will have all the parts and give this thing a shot...

On Board Air - Quick Question - Sanden Compressor Connections

Great, thanks for the info! I think I will probably end up using that switch also, doesn't seem to be many other options out there, and certainly nothing that cheap.

On Board Air - Quick Question - Sanden Compressor Connections

Nice, thanks for the info! I can see the connections there too, slightly different that my compressor I think. I will figure out a pressure switch option and get this project moving along here again! Going to have to consider that cooling coil seriously as it was not in the original plan at...

On Board Air - Quick Question - Sanden Compressor Connections

Great, thanks for the information! Due to exasperation I have actually tapped the inside of the connections to get a barbed fitting in there, should work for now... I hope! Cooling coil is definetly a good idea. Thank you for your help!

On Board Air - Quick Question - Sanden Compressor Connections

Wow, incredibly fast response, thanks! Do you have a photo of the cooling coil? Someone had mentioned that but I noticed that most people don't run one at all, they just go straight to the air manifold. Did he give you the connections for the hose connections, or to the actual compressor...

On Board Air - Quick Question - Sanden Compressor Connections

Hey All, I know there are a thousand write ups for this, but I can't find the answer I am looking for ANYWHERE. I have an 89 4.0 XJ with a stock Sanden on board that I am going to convert over. I have a parts list for everything but can't seem to figure out what size the connections are on...

    POWER Steering

Found this for renix year rigs: http://www.agrperformance.com/products_parts.php?cat=101&product=118&make=Jeep&model=114 Might give it a shot... We'll see. A little pricey, almost as close in price as a PSC pump, so I don't know...

    POWER Steering

hard to figure out the definitive answer for the older rigs on here? I have n 89, so I have to swap the intake manifold (which is a lot of work) and then get the new power steering bracket and pump off of a WJ of the right year, and swap all of that in? At what point is it just worth it to...
