low oil pressure at operating temp

New sending unit didn't fix the problem. I still need to put the mechanical gauge on, but indications are that it has oil pressure. Otherwise, I would expect the engine would make a lot of noise when the pressure drops off. Any other ideas? 2000 XJ, 4.0L, All Stock, 159,000miles

low oil pressure at operating temp

2000 XJ, 4.0L, All Stock, 159,000miles I have a similar but different oil pressure problem. I have around 35-40psi while running at highway speeds at temperature. Usually 40+ at cold start-up. When hot at idle, the oil pressure will drop to NOTHING and I get the "Check Gauges" dummy light...

    99 XJ Overheating

2000 XJ Sport 4.0 4WD 147k miles Is a radiator flush using a store-bought kit (like Peak Radiator Flush and Fill Kit - ~$4) sufficient? Or, is it better to got to a shop and have the system flushed (~$80)?

    Auxiliary fan issues

Got a new CTS and installed it and the fan appears to be cycling correctly with the temperature gauge. It comes on at about 220 (best you can tell on the gauge) and goes off just under 210 on the gauge. Hopefully this will address my heating issue. I am left with an AC problem, though, which...

    Auxiliary fan issues

Thanks, Joe. Unplugging the CTS causes the fan to come on. Plugging it back in, causes the fan to go off. Must be the CTS, right? I'm fixin' to go to the parts store and get one to find out!

    Auxiliary fan issues

2000 4.0 4WD automatic all stock - 144k miles Thanks, robsjeepxj. I try the CTS check you describe tonight. Am I correct that the CTS is tapped into the block at the front above the water pump on my 2000? Haynes Manual says "at the rear of the block", but I don't see anything back there. By...

    Auxiliary fan issues

2000 4.0 4WD automatic all stock. OK, Tim_MN, so the 00-01 are different. How do they work? Furthermore, how do I go about figuring out why my electric cooling fan doesn't work? I've straight wired it to the battery and it will run, but it doesn't come on with the AC or when the temperature...
