    Upgrade steering pump?

FWIW, mine is a '98, and there were no physical washers (shims) between my end cap and piston housing, BUT there was a gap between the cap and housing. The cap was effectively "shimmed" into place with thread locker. I took it apart, cleaned it, and tightened down against the housing upon...

    Upgrade steering pump?

I did this mod on my pump, but have not put it back into service yet. Hopefully this summer. If the pump explodes on initial startup, I'll be sure to come back and update my findings. 🙃 Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

Trans-go kit into aw4 - any thoughts coments.

Couple more notes from my install today. 1) measure the included drill bits. My included 0.076" bit (truck setting) actually measured 0.074". It may not matter much, but considering their note that the holes are very sensitive to size, I found another bit from my set at home that measured...

Brilliant! I didn't even have to enter a password to get into the den for that tip! ;)

Zombie thread... Figured it was better to post the question here than start a new thread. #sorrynotsorry ;) I'll be doing the 340-HD2 kit soon on my AW4. Anything in particular (gravity related) to look out for when doing this install in-vehicle? There are only a couple of relavent YT videos...

    Upgrade steering pump?

I found it a couple months ago in their FAQ section. Attached here for posterity (hopefully).http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/624a7b1d277db/upgrade%20saginaw%20pump.PDF Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

    steering gear replaced, still bad

You can get a sector shaft bearing from Motion Pro for about $30, and the input bearing and seal kit are available on Rock Auto, if the internals are otherwise good and you want to attempt a rebuild yourself. It's a bit tedious, but not hard, and no real special tools needed other than an in-lb...

    TECH TIP: Starter Brush Installation

We spare no expense around here... unless of course it's the expense of a new starter. :looney: Done! In all my searching, I never ran across that thread, but I've added it for posterity, thanks!

[Tech writeup] How to rebuild your starter

I just finished taking apart my oil-soaked starter for a cleaning and wanted to pass along my suggestion for getting the brush reassembly reinstalled. There are several half-way decent videos on how to disassemble/reassemble the XJ starter on YouTube, but I wasn't thrilled with the typical...

    Who's going?

That weekend is my wife's high school musical performance, so I'm stuck at home on dad duty while she works all weekend. This is her last year doing them, though, so should make for a lot more free weekends after this semester!

    Who's going?

Sadly, my XJ is still in a million pieces, so I won't be available for a Spotted Cow run this year. I'm looking forward to getting the Jeep "done" this year, though, with the plan of using WF23 as a pre-run for a presumed (?) 2023 NAXJA Anniversary Moab trip. :) Sent from my SM-G960U1 using...
