    just towed, help... ('98)

I have to go to Florida tommorow to pick-up a second car I have there until I can sort my xj fiasco in NY. Sort of a pre-planned vacation without knowing the xj took a dump, really puts a damper on the family vacation. I AM EXTREMELY APPRECIATE of all the suggestions, when I drive this...

    just towed, help... ('98)

I replaced the front and rear 02 sensors about 300 miles ago, preventive maintenance. I'll look into your suggestions, but if the IAC was inplugged, why would the idle stay smooth as silk!?! Not good as a diagnostician, thanks for the reply...

    D30 Pinion seal replacement

i just did mine, notched the yoke, nut, and pinion, AND spoke directly with the local jeep dealer mechanic. just line up everything the way you removed, you'll be fine. btw, be careful removing the old seal, you dont want to nick the recess the seal sits in and create an additional seepage...

    just towed, help... ('98)

On parkway, engine begins straining to maintain speed, finally can't get above thirty, idles like new though. Towed home, idling fine in my garage, but even under no load major breaking up when throttled. I began disconnecting electrical connectors that attach to throttle body, then the one...

anyone use the outer axle tube end seals for the D30?

tell ya what i did. got tired of re track bar heim joints drying themselves out so I slathered them with grease as sort of an artificial dust boot. extended the life at least three times, but looks oh so getto. when i did the ujoints on my d30 and had to wire wheel off the axle a bit 'o rust...

    Installing factory Cruise control questions

not trying start a pissing contest, but personally i'd rather be safe than sorry. iirc, I think the oem instructions said to start the car by reaching through the passengers' side window in case the bag deploys after initial installation. I keep everything piece of info/directions, albeit...

    Installing factory Cruise control questions

i don't usually chime in in the moral sense, but my post-new xj purchase of the factory oem cruise control kit was a Christmas gift. FWIW, i would not do this mod piecemeal, think about the ramifications of an unpredictable gas pedal AND one or two airbags with minds of their own. granted...

    Installing factory Cruise control questions

i did the oem install on my '98 back in '99 and dc certainly did not require you to replace the airbag. they did give very detailed but concise instructions on how to remove it from the column and temporarily store it, etc.., but you definitely reused it. all the connectors are prewired into...

    front driveshaft angles...

for years had an RE 4.5" lift, nonadjust. upper and lower control arms. a little bit of shimming with an sye perfected the rear driveshaft, but I've always had somewhat noticable vibes up front, nothing to alarm me. Also don't use 4wd all too often so was never an issue. now that i think...
