I grab these kind of parts from the local pick and pull. I put the part in temporarily to test it and then have a known good spare. Last PCM was about 65 bucks. The sand dune XJ has a nice little parts store under the back seat and in the motor home.

Chances are its the 1-2 solenoid. BEFORE you do any part buying do the solenoid test. An ohm meter at the TCU which is located above the gas pedal. A easy search will give you procedure. It takes a couple hours to change out the solenoids. They are under the tran pans. IF that is the problem...
I mounted mine under the hood when I made a Hidden Winch on mine. Under the passenger side hood hinge. Id show a pic but it says I cant post attachments.
