    Welcome

Wierd things in wierd places... I did tell you guys about the strawbery and the cantalope? I just have 2 1/2 jobs right now and at least one of them really wants me to work early July. I don't have a schedule for shifts yet from either of my two main jobs. I should know early next week. I'm...

    Welcome

I'm going to try to be there. Things have gotten weirder at work than usual, but all the more reason to get out of Dodge. Still have the RV, still on 7" with 36" etc. and the cage. Looking foreward hopefully. Can I pay cash when I get there for the registration? (the original) Mattk

Hello all! Long time no see. I am currently planning on being there this year. RV included Ron. Still need to replace an axleshaft and play with some steering issues, but should be there. mattk

    different weight question

Does anyone know the weight of a STOCK XJ? I know that the '97s were just over 3,000lbs from the factory. Does anyone know if the older ones were lighter? If so how much? Thanks mattk

    air tank

OK guys let's get this all straight. There is a huge difference in air vs. LIQUID CO2 tanks. CO2 tanks have to be rated for much higher pressures. CO2 at room temperature exerts a vapor pressure of about 800 psi. In the back of a jeep in summer, mine has gone as high as about 925 psi. The...

    front dana 44 swap info

I was told once that while you are saving up for the brakes and outers, you can bolt in the D30 outer nuckles, stub shafts etc. Never tried it but I've been told it will work. Use a Chevy 1/2 ton outer nuckle and caliper and a wagoneer spindle and Ford hub and rotor and you can get 5 on 5 1/2...

    Getting a better ride....

Mine did a lot better after the long arm conversion. A drop bracket kit should do the same thing. mattk

    242 Sye

I had a Mechanically Inclined Technicians (M.I.T.) kit until I went with and Atlas. I was quite happy with it. Not an HD version though. mattk

    mounting hydraulic assist ram

Yeah that was my other option. My steering will be a little different. It will be an inverted T setup using TREs (don't get me started on heims). I have a d44 with a damn near identical trac bar mount. The drag link will mount to the tie rod at a spot right in front of the spring on the pass...

    mounting hydraulic assist ram

Has anyone with hydraulics mounted the ram to the diff cover? I have a 1/4" plate steel cover from Bluetorch so it would be easy to weld to, but my question is will it leak? Anyone have experience or problems with this? TIA mattk

    Trac Bar

Loc-Tite threadlocker. Fine thread bolts if you're not using them already. Tack welding if you don't mind cutting it to remove it next time. mattk

    what front axle to get???

That's a deal on the truck. I say take it. You'll have to re-gear but otherwise it should be usable. There is no cheap way to convert to a high pinion rear, but you can get a Currie center section to convert the 9" to a high pinion. It's designed to function in front or in back so durability...

    4to1 for trans-case, whos?

I have an Atlas but I had the money. Whatever you do, don't spend money to replace something you broke with the same thing so you can break it again. You can't afford to do that either. If it breaks, replace it with something stronger. mattk

Great to see you guys again! That was the most fun I've had at an event in a while. Thanks to Heather and Kevin for making it all possible. Already looking foreward to next year. mattk
