Im not proud of it, but yeah i watch it. And then i kick myself for watching it. I hate how big of deal they turn little things into. Like the 3rd one when they find the jeep chained to a ledge. "Omg how are we gonna get it down?" Well if i was truly worried about biffing it backing down.. i...
Most of WJ axles that i have seen use CV joints in the axle instead of Spicer U-joints, but its still a dana 30. The bracket for the control arms is a bit wider because they use beefier arms than the XJ. They are not any stronger so i wouldnt bother with it unless your housing is toast and it is...
The H1 is independant all the way around, but I guess you COULD call it a "portal" independant because it Does use gear reduction at the hub, and the axle does go in above the center of the wheel.

OK I have done thread search and i didnt find anything..so here goes. I have a 95 with a 8.25 rear. its all stock but i plan to do a 3" RC lift and 31s. I have a 71 jeepster i was wanting to rob the axles from. d27 closed knuckle. D44 rear. Other than the pain in the butt of switching the front...
My friend picked up a wagoneer xj and it has seats that recline back, and tilt back, kind of like a rocking chair. They are VERY comfortable, and I have been snooping around junkyards looking for a pair of em even since i rode in it. Just an idea.
