Turns out it was 100% the waterpump. Took it out and it was really loose, the bearing went. New one is in and it's all better.

May be the water pump bearings. Its coming from right around there. Going to take the belt off this weekend and see what I can see.. Or hear what I can hear, rather. Ahh! I didn't mean for this to be in italics.

Possibly bad injector. Try swapping it out for one from the third cylinder and seeing if the missfire changes to #3.

Here's a fun thing to do. Disconnect the vacuum line to the MAP sensor and try starting it a few times. First will be normal, itll run like crap, shut off, and the next time it'll start up instantaneously. Also my throttle response was improved. RENIX is weird.

Auto TPS in my manual works fine. Just has an extra plug dangling around. :)

Could be a low fluid level. When you are on a steep incline, there might not be enough in the torque converter to keep power to the transmission.
