You could disconnect one of the trans cooling lines from the radiator,start the engine and pump it into a can.

Sounds like fuel starvation to me. Check the fuel pressure.

Amen to the hose problem...I have seen this before myself. I had one that looked like new,but I could not blow 120 psi through it.

Could also be a bad plug wire, distributor cap or a faulty injector..
