99-04 is a WJ. Haven't had one in a while. But I did put a hitch on mine. Mine had the nut things in the frame already. I removed the bumper cover to cut it and install the bezel piece that goes around the reciever. http://www.wjjeeps.com/trailer.htm

Loosen(almost to removal) the temp guage sender. Located at the rear driver's side of the head. When antifreeze starts running out, tighten up. Air will be removed from the system. What condition are your vacuum hoses? Check the line going to the MAP sensor on the firewall, had a small crack in mine once that cause bad idle. Check the "boot" from the air cleaner to TBI, mine cracked once causing a bad idle. Clean the IAC. Start there. Not sure about the vibration, not...
