If by chance the bushing came out where do I find a replacement? Is that a dealer only part or something from the autopart store?
Can anyone tell me if the 97 and newers have the problem with the welds on the hinge seperating like the older ones? I couldn't find a TSB or too many other people...
I haven't had time to look at it but suddenly the drivers door on my '99 XJ is sagging and has to be lifted to get it to close.
I found a TSB and tons of information on a problem with the older models but I don't know if the same info applies to the '99. Any suggestions? I'll be pulling it...
I have a '99 Jeep Cherokee XJ with a 4.0. It's still running good, but a check engine light came on. I took it to AutoZone and O'Reilly's and ran it using each of their code scanners. Both connected just fine and then came back with no error codes and said "ok"...
I have no clue where to start...
Thank you... I was flipping through an FSM yesterday and found the tests for fuel pressure. I think I'll try that before I spend the money on an O2 sensor... I wouldn't mind having the fuel pressure gauges laying around in the future anyway :-)
I haven't found a code reader to check my current engine codes with. Usually I run by Autozone and have them read it and reset it. Last time it was a front O2 sensor high voltage error and that was it. I'm curious to know what the current codes are...
If it's an O2 sensor problem, can I unplug...
To start off with. I have a ’96 XJ with the 4.0/auto… Lately I’ve been getting a check engine light for an 02 sensor voltage too high. The lights comes and goes and doesn’t seem to affect the way that it runs too bad… Today I’m driving in rush hour traffic and it starts to stumble on me, almost...
I'm hoping that is what has happened, but until I put some miles on the Jeep with the error code reset I won't know for sure... I might do a good tune-up on it just for good measure anyway...
Error codes are erased. Driving around town hasn't triggered anything yet. I'm going to take it out for a longer drive tonight and see if the check engine light comes back on or not...
Oh yeah, and I know that number one cylinder definately has some serious voltage running through the spark plug wire, but don't ask how I know.... Let's just say that it's still a little hard to type with my right hand!!!
No, they didn't erase the codes for me....
I doubt this is related, but my wife ran the tank practically dry when the code first came on. She pulled in the driveway and the fuel light was on and she said the check engine light had just came on too... Filling it up didn't make a difference...
My check engine light came on a little while ago. Still seems to be running
okay, but Autozone pulled the following codes for me:
P0132 - 02 High Voltage Bank 1
P0300 - Cylinder Misfire Detected on random cylinders
P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire detected
How should I start troubleshooting it? Is...
Is there a chart or a website out there somewhere that has the different lengths of factory XJ driveshafts with the different drivetrain configurations over the years?
I'm looking for a driveshaft to throw in my YJ. It has a D44 front axle and a NP231 from a '92 Blazer. Sitting at normal...
Yeah, I think that's going to be the next one that I attack. I think I'll just start unplugging every connector under the hood one at a time, cleaning them up and putting some dielectric grease in them. Is there anyway of "waterproofing" some of those connectors externally while I'm at it?
