I have a 92 xj 4.0L auto running 31 x 10.5 GY MTR's and I average about 17- 18 mpg with 30lbs of pressure in tires.
I don't think the 3" exhaust helps you at all. Probably your tire pressure was hurting you also.
Even the ZJ setup uses the weak factory draglink. I bent mine a few times on my TJ and then went Currie. :D

Something I didn't see in any of the post.....Use good titanium drill bits with lots of cutting oil and a good American tap and handle with the above mentioned cutting oil and go slow, check your hole often:rolleyes: and enjoy!:D
If your steering wheel is off center after wheeling, Then you probable have bent the draglink slightly. Been there, done that a couple of times before I went to HD Currie setup.:D
Like someone said: Check all the steering stuff. The draglink bends easily on that setup, also crank on that trackbar. at least 165 lbs of torque and use grade 8 bolts and locktite. try adjusting the play out of your steering box and check it for loose or cracked mounting bolts. Play with the...
I just threw one away when I installed my D44. The trac lok worked ok when you used the emergency brake, but it aint worth it. save a little more dinero and get a lunchbox locker. Hardly noticed on the street, but makes a difference in the dirt.
Sorry RCP, but I think the D35 is the weak link. I see people wheel the hell out of their D30's and not break, me included so far even with 33's. The D35 in the rear is a piece of crap! I wouldn't spend an extra nickle on one. Go to an 8.8 or D44 or D60, 9 inch anything else when you break that...
