    F & R D44 swap adventure begins!

Just a thought.... My budy put a waggy 44 in the front of his zj and had to build a bridge over the diff for the front arm to mount to. Not a big deal when he was building the axle, but always had problems with the clearance issues afterwards. Just something to think about....

    44 or 9 inch

If the 9 is ready to bolt in to your xj and all you have to do to the front is run spacers then I would go for it. The 9 inch has the ability to be built to run some big tires with some trussing. The 44 out of a xj is usually an easier swap as it the 8.8. But If you can bolt it in and run it...

Should I buy used tires? Advice Please.

If you unhook your swaybars they will rub offroad. On the road it depends on how worn you suspension is like everyone said.

    Pre-97 Wrangler.

Yeah, I have to agree that near stock YJs do not do very well off road. These jeeps are great to build for a short wheel base jeep, because of the EFI. I am not a big fan of short wheel base jeeps ( I owned a 60 model cj), but if I wanted to build a serious short jeep this is what I would buy.

    Firewalls

XP SP 2 firewall is not too bad. By no means is it the best thing out there, but for most home users it will do the job.

    95 xj, no start.

If there is something like this, I have yet to find it. I found a small black box with velcro (Spelling?) holding it under the dash, but it does nothing diffrent when I unplug it. From what I have found out, there is no box or anything else like that that can be pulled to disable the factory...

    95 xj, no start.

Thanks alot for the help man! My XJ is a 92, not a 95. I was trying to help the guy who started the thread because it sounded like he had the same problem as me. To restate my problems so anyone with any other ideas will be able to help. My jeep had been sitting for a while after I broke...

    95 xj, no start.

I have asked several people at the dealership about this problem, and they had no idea where to start looking for the problem. I would hate to haul it over there, them mess with it for a few days and charge me some crazy amount of money to tell me they can't fix it. If I thought there was anyway...

    95 xj, no start.

My jeep will only run sometimes on starting fluid, but not always. The fuel pump runs sometimes, but most of the time it does not. The injectors do the same thing, as does the power from the coil. I guess my question is, has anyone put a computer from a XJ without the factory security into one...

    95 xj, no start.

Well, I have spent two more full days working on my xj with no luck, still know codes are shown. Does anyone know if the factory security system will randomly cause no spark, the injectors to not open, and the fuel pump to not run. Each seems to take it's turn working for a few cranks then stop...

    Front speaker placement

I have some 6x9s laying between the seats and doors frames on mine. You might want to zip-tie them to the seat frame, other wise they can tear the hell out of your arm if you lay your xj on its side.

    What's your favorite movie?

How bout Tombstone? That is one of the best movies ever! Other good ones.... Lock, Stock, and Two smoking barrels (as stated before) Pulp fiction (as stated before) Office space Half baked Almost Famous Gladiator (as stated before) The doors movie Star Wars ( all of them, even the new ones)...

    95 xj, no start.

Thanks again for the help guys, I worked on my jeep all day again today with no luck. As far as disarming the alarm with the remote, I don't have the remote so I can't try that, butt thanks for the idea. As for the idea from XUV-This, my xj is a 92, so does the crank position sensor work the...

    95 xj, no start.

The best way I know to tell if your Xj has a factory alarm is to unhook the battery and reconnect it. The lights should flash, and the horn should sound. It should have a security light in the dash if it is like my 92. And as far as how to disable it , DAMN IF I CAN FIGURE THAT ONE OUT!! Good...
