I did try hitting the dash, I had the same prob in my wrangler and that would work, I ended up pulling the dash apart and cleaning the connections. When it did happen on the wrangler the odometer would go blank too, so I was thinking it was something other then the conections.

Like the title says, I'm in Massachusetts, what do you have and how much

Just bought a 99 xj and ther rear hatch will not open, the mechanism inside I think is broke or has come apart, the key seems to turn the lock fine but the handle will not pop the hatch. Any thoughts on how to fix this. Thanks Guys
