    2x6 sliders with door trimming

They won't move. so log as you tie them in properly in my opinion you are worried about nothing.

    Tube Rockers?

What does sliders have to do with his question?. There are a million write ups on this so I won't go down that road. Most of the differences in the approach comes down to how you tie into the "back" side of the stock rocker area. Some people weld in angle first and slide in their rocker...

    Differences in Center Frame Stiffeners

I would also suggest that your don't go over 1/8 or 10 guage. 3/16 is overkill in my book. After ten years of fabbing on my XJ I wish I have had taken more care with attention to weight and not used whatever metal I had on hand. Using 3/6 angle to tie into the floor plan is way overkill.

    Opinions wanted Re: Axles

If you are starting from scratch, there is no 9" vs 44 debate. yes a junkyard 3rd is nothing to brag about but a 9" opens the door for huge capacity. You can grow a 9" to be just about all the axle you need without throwing everything out like you have to do with a 44. That and if you have...

    1 ton regrets

I think my biggest fear is that by the time I add tons and tires and I will really start to hate the 4.0. A new jeep is not in the cards and I already have plated the frame etc and I have a bender so I have no chassis concerns. The 4.0 is already a dog and I struggle on some muddy hill climbs...

    1 ton regrets

Anyone regret going 1 tons? I was going to make the move a couple years ago but ended up selling the axles before I swapped them in. Now I kind of the bug to hop on the 1 tons and 40's bandwagon all over again. I have your typical XJ on 35's with highly polished 30/8.8 combo. For trail...

Gears or Tcase that is the question...

^^ agree 100%. You cannot be loving 4.88's on 40's with the stock 231, why compound the problem? You have clearly outgrown the 231 and are ready for a big boy case. I have a doubler with a built D300 and the gearing options are great on the trail. For 42's if you like technical stuff I would...

    run ok without speed sensor

Just to update the thread in case someone is ever in my boat. After two trips to store for resistors I ended up not needing them. I had been driving the jeep around my property the past few weeks after getting it running. But only at very low speeds and the speedo didn't appear to work...

    run ok without speed sensor

I picked up a 330ohm 1 watt today but I guess I was way off. I will go back on Monday. Thanks so much for your time. This is way over my head so you are helping me out big time.

    run ok without speed sensor

what size resistor did you use?, turns out mine is not working, u just wire the resistor between the positive power and the signal wire?

    run ok without speed sensor

what does the resister do? I just passed on the wire colors I found online, on my 2000 I had different color wires. I just ditched the power wire and wired the sensor in between the ground and signal wire and it worked.

    run ok without speed sensor

In case someone is ever in the same boat you just buy a BWD S8025 speed sensor which screws right into the short output dana 300. Then wire as follows Jeep ----- VSS white ---> black black ---> black white stripe orange --- not used. It works!
