    MY XJ BLOWS........

Mine is definitely better than when I first lifted it. I think the biggest improvement was with a heavy-duty tie rod, but the brace definitely helped. That said, crosswinds are still going to affect you to some degree no matter what you do.

    chrysler 8.25

I agree. I'm pretty sure the tractech dude was just trying to drive home how strong the new design of the trutrac is.

    chrysler 8.25

In my search for an affordable locker for my 8.25, I noticed that Rocky Road outfitters has powertrax lockrights for 295 and no-slips for 375. I ended up with a detroit trutrac from 4 wheel parts for about 430 shipped. While it isn't as good as a true locker, it did seem better than a standard...

    Steering after RE4.5 lift

Mine did that after my lift and tires too. I fixed it by getting an aftermarket steering stabilizer (much stiffer) and by rechecking the torque on all the linkages especially the track bar.

Recommendations on a good 4.5' Xj lift kit HELP PLEASE

I personally like my rustys 4.5" kit alot. I've been running it for about 5 months now and haven't had any major problems with it netting about 4.5" lift in front and 5.5" in the rear initially, then 4.5" front and 5.0" rear after settling. I personally like this because I plan on adding a...

Anyone ever put a V8 in a XJ?

Just out of curiosity, how heavy is this trailer you're planning on pulling? I would think that with the frame would need some reinforcement if you're planning on pulling anything heavier than 5,000lbs. My understanding is that a major limitation to towing is the unibody.

I agree with the fuel pump switch. I think projectxj.com has a writeup.

    Which lift would you buy?

I've been running Rusty's 4.5" kit for about 3 months now and it seems to work fine with the low pinion (I have a 2001 with lp30 and 8.25). I don't get any vibrations when I'm driving in 2wd and in 4wd it's not noticable when I'm wheeling and at low speeds. If I engage 4wd while driving above...

Help needed: Rusty's steering box brace

I just had the exact same issue installing a rustys brace on my 01 cherokee yesterday. I ended up using a file to make the hole larger on the brace itself, and again on the clamp. I also had to bend the tube to make it line up perfectly with the clamp. You can probably use a vise if you don't...
