    Dana 30 truetrac

I have a truetrac in the front (d30) and detroit in the rear (ford 8.8), and they work pretty well. I'm upgrading the front to a d44, and while I'm at it going with elockers, but I was happy with the trutrac while I had it.

    thoughts on front axel swap?

as a post script to this, I was able to find the receipts from over a decade ago-- the front axle was pretty much completely rebuilt, and has a 27 spline tru trac limited slip.. and sadly, for the money I spent I just about could have bout the currie d44 w/ e-locker.

    thoughts on front axel swap?

currently putting upgraded brakes in my '88 XJ, while it's at the shop I'm debating swapping out the front axle-- it's a rebuilt d30 w/ detroit locker and 4.11 gears -- I had it "beefed" up back in the day, but for the life of me I can't remember exactly what I did... that said, I'm running...

17" big brake upgrade for XJ?

interesting. I'll have to try that. didn't think that would impact low speed crawling braking, but its a free potential fix, thanks.

no, I replaced that a while ago with a late model booster, I think from a 98.

17" big brake upgrade for XJ?

currently running a vanco/black magic upgrade on my xj, the one for 15" rims. Braking on the trails is sporting --- in 4lo, with my setup (zz6 motor/4.11 gears, 35"tires), when crawling the brakes fight to hold on. I'm looking into getting a bigger, "big brake" upgrade. Since I'll likely have...

poor braking at low rpms --

That's kind of where I'm zoning in on. probably time for larger wheels to fit larger brakes...

poor braking at low rpms --

keep in mind I'm running a chevy zz6 motor and a 700r4. I was actually thinking of lowering the ratios. But anyway, to each their own.

poor braking at low rpms --

Google 'em. They're pretty well-known upgrade for jeep/xj front brakes. Still wondering what the issue is with 4.11 gears/35s on my truck?
