also how can I quickly tell if the Tcase is the NP242 VS 231? I am not afraid to do a tcase swap when I hopefully have my new place soon.....

Thanks, im not looking to turn this into a super built OMFG ROXORS rock crawler type thing, this I plan to do perhaps a mild build for my area and then use it more for DD and when ever my parents come into town and I need to seat more then my two seater Wrangler can fit if that makes sense...

with out knowing how your wiring is done (or if it was botched by PO if applicable) I will be assumeing most likely conditions and a stock system in your Jeep If your blower motor is only opperating on High we can at least rule out the blower motor being bad, so the next thing we should check...
