My 97 has "Up Country" it rattled like crazy. The fix was easy. I took a vise grip pliers to them compressing the bands. The springs have not rattled in over 5 years. Good luck.

I switched to Rotella at the same time I replaced my OEM Cat 20K(140K) miles ago. It has passed strict GA tests for 2 years with no indication of degradation of the Cat.

IGOCOMMANDO, Thanks for the reply. It is strange to me that the original lasted 145K and this POS only 16K. The Bosch pump from Pep Boys is a lifetime warranty. But it will cost me a tow,new belt etc. Just an all around pain in the butt.

No need to drain your oil. Just take off the old and replace with your new one. There is no pressure with the motor off. Good luck .
