    You are correct sir. the 4500 and 5500 do have urea injection but the 3500 and below do not. i think it has something to do with being california low emissions idle certification thingy.

    woops, my bad. missed the fixed lowers part. i dont really see how putting the adjustable lowers on and adjusting for proper caster is going to push it forward that far. but you arent going to do it so, i guess you are screwed! time for a 3 link!

    i would go motorcraft. and i dont envy you in the least bit! i always cringed when i got a repair order for doing plugs on a 5.4 and the vans are just as bad as the trucks!

    i run them in the rear of mine and im at 4.5". the fronts are good for 3" max and at that you will have very little down travel. i tried the fronts and ended up buying front shocks to fit my 4" lift.

    well if im not mistaken, you need more positive caster (7.5 degrees i think is spec). in which case all you need to do is lengthen your lower arms to get that.

    honestly sounds to me like the complete engine wasnt built correctly. possible ring issues causing the oil loss mystery/soot in collector. possible head issues for overheating or a partial blockage in a cooling passage way in the block.

    just pull the hvac housing and split the case. you are just gonna give yourself a headache trying to figure out what codes are real. ive found when it comes to wj's just pull it apart and see what doors are broken and then replace them. actuators dont usually go out. just my 2 cents
