How well does this Anti-Squeal compound work?
I just replaced pads and rotors on my 2000 and the intermitten squeal is driving me crazy.
At first i thought larger shims might help, but they haven't solved the problem. I'm guessing my next step is this Anti-Squeal? Just curious how well it...
On this note.. anyone have knowledge of a good quality Quiet exhaust system?
I might just change the gears and stay stock on the intake and exhaust. Go up to 3.73's or so...
Curious if anyone has experience or information pertaining to this type of setup. It looks to be relatively new product, but i could be wrong there.
My 2000 XJ sport is stock. Eventually i'd like to make some mild alterations to it. One of those would include new gears. I really like the...
ok.. so in the end, what are we talking about here?
To get reasonably mild power increases to a stock setup, should it ideally go like this?
K/N style high flow intake setup
62mm bored TB
TB spacer
High Flow cat
performance cat back exhaust system
Are we now in a more reasonable field of...
I would guess that BudTX is referring to a vib noise coming from the tcase..
But it sure sounds like it comes from further back... and on the passenger side where the exhaust runs.
I experience this same mild drone sound at the RPM's that were listed above. I too figured it was just a muffler/exhaust issue. I'll be curious to try this "lifting of the tcase lever a bit".
If lift the lever has control over it... what is the remedy?
I think the Revo's are what i'll end up with... either 30x9.5 or 31x10.5
If i can just figure out what size and If i'll Lift a little bit or not.
The highest lift i'll go with would be 1.5" budget style.
I'd really like to get the 31x10.5s... but unsure how much lift i'd need on a 2000 XJ...
Has anyone known of anyone... or tried themselves.. to put the Tru-Lock (i think thats what they are called) axles from a TJ-Rubicon, on an XJ?
I'd really like to have electric switching ability if i'm going to the trouble of replacing axles.
anyone using a more street derived tire, something that adds some width to the stock size, but maintains the 28" diameter?
I drive to much in the city to sacrifice performance. I've also thought about a bored out throttle bottle and K/N filter set up.. maybe a spacer... cat back exhaust. Any...
I just have a hell of a time believing that the filter inside the tank, with a life expectancy of 100k miles or whatever you'd like to compare it too, is worth a damn if it isn't regularly serviceable. I'm sure all things being considered.. the engineers know what they are doing, but when i'm...
After buying my XJ last fall, i was amazed to not be able to find a filter on it. In doing some research, i see that the filter is part of the pump in the in the tank. Which i don't really like.
Has anyone been splicing the fuel line and putting in a filter anyway?
Personally, i'm just looking for a rotor that will be less tendent to warp. The 55mph brake shake that my 2000 xj has, needs remedied. And from what i'm reading in various places, it seems like a 6-10k mile replacement with OEM parts.
I can easily see how drilled or slotted rotors could...
