Your right....I just assumed someone here on naxja was aware of the troubles of a 16.5" h1 rim fitting to one of the big 3 axles. Basically the tie rod is the main issue hitting the inside of the rim. Without the tie rod connected to the outer knuckle the rim just fits. Soooooooo...

I dunno what you are talking about 93Jeepin :D As far as choices in rims I will likely go with a 16" rims perhaps bigger......I will cross that bridge when I come to it :D All I know is I can wait to get some sparks flyin and metal a meltin :D I am already prepared to dump $1500 into...

a D44 and a D60........44 has flat top knuckles........both axles are 8 lug.......no clue what they are originally out of.......where should I start first? I'm so happy :D

Here is my idea I went with.........I DO NOT like the look of fenderless XJ's so I bought the bushwackers :D Mind you I trimmed very neatly and welded up my rear wheel wells after trimming away the pinch seam/weld...........and instead of using those sheetmetal screws that bushwacker supplies...

Honestly make your own......its not that hard......I made mine in 3 days while taking care of home life....kids/wife/house and working 12hr nights
