Off Topic- Im looking for a good Gunsmith.

You might want to check out http://www.egsw.com/ Evan really knows his stuff, he used to be a USMC armorer. His sense of humor take a little getting used to though....

The freezing you're talking about is usually preceeded by the tank getting really cold :lecture: It's normal

    Dual battery question, already searched...

I agree that dual batteries are a luxury, but I'm still going to install them some day. They're kinda low on the priority list though, but when I get around to it I'm going to use this isolator setup http://www.hellroaring.com/4wheel.htm There's some good info on the site, it's worth checking out.

next to nothing REAR BRAKE PROBLEM

I had that problem after I installed my 8.8. Turns out the calipers were installed upside down (reversed right to left). This allows an air pocket to remain in the caliper that cannot be bled out. If that's your problem it's an easy fix.

    never got an answer!

I'm pretty sure that's where the cabin air is drawn from and it's usually better not to draw cabin air from the engine compartment.

Ford 8.8 swap again....i know srry

I have 34" tires and did the 8.8 swap along with this http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/tech/brakes/xj_wjbrakes03/booster/index.htm and the difference is dramatic. It still won't lock the tires on dry asphalt, but it now feels safe and controllable. If I had to do it over again I would do this...

    flipped 231

This doesn't mean you can't use your '90 AW4, just means you have to spend more money. http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kit_153_aw4.htm

    flipped 231

The D300 from a Scout is a different bolt pattern, the CJ uses the same pattern as an XJ. The conversion CAN get pricey when you adapt to a 21 spline input, upgrade to 32 spline output, add 4:1 low range, or buy a flip kit and a rebuild kit. When you add all that together you can buy an Atlas...

    flipped 231

I just picked up a D300 for $200.00. Bought it from a neighbor, he pulled it from a running CJ8 and $200.00 seems to be the going price. You can buy twin sticks on eBay for less than $100.00. The bolt pattern is the same as 231 and mates up to a 23 spline shaft, and it's WAY beefier than a 231...

    how many people have

It's a pretty straightforward swap. You can buy spring perches, shock mounts (or make them) and u bolts individually and save a ton of money rather than buy the MORE kit. I cut the shock mounts of my 8.25 and reused them. I reused the spring plates, but am going to make new ones to work with my...

    Rear Main Seal

Let us know how it goes...I have all the parts to do mine sitting in the garage, I just keep putting it off. It's not getting any better and drips right onto the exhaust pipe. Smokes more than I used to!
