This is what mine does randomly and its a bad/dirty Nuetral safety switch.. just turn the key and shift into nuetral and crank it, and if it doesnt start then shift into park and try it again .. repeat the process until it starts.
Well I'm back as promised.
So I replaced the cylinder head, head gasket, and exhaust manifold.
The head gasket fell apart when the head came off, and the exhaust manifold was slightly cracked near the flange.
I have been driving the Jeep since yesterday and it runs COOL now doesnt even hint...
Just wanted to give an update:
Tomorrow I'm replacing head gasket, and the cylinder head with a reman, and also putting on a new exhaust manifold.. I'll let y'all know what happens.
Well I guess my exhaust manifold is getting a good welding. Ill let you know the outcome. Thanks!!
to the guy that found out his problems were caused by this can you tellme the symptoms you experienced as far as overheating?
Not an OEM water pump, but the one I replaced was in perfect condition, only replaced it because i had the suspicion it might be the wrong rotation. Both pumps yield the same problems.
Peak temp of thermostat housing is always what the gauge reads + (5-10)
Have not done an ohms resistance...
