    Transmission problem

    I have an automatic 2001 xj... The transmission gave out on me yesterday. Turns out a hose came loose and I lost all the fluid. Placed new hose clamp and fluid, but it still has issues. It works for a bit than it wont shift into drive or reverse. If I stop the engine and re start it, it works...

    I will replace the axle u joints this week. As far as the noise while turning in 4wd, I was on dry pavement in part time...I know it's for slippery surfaces but I was trying to find out where the noise was comming from.

    Your right....might just have to buy the correct shocks.

    The only way I am going to make them fit is by making a custom bar pin eliminator. I just spent a few hours removing the rear sway bar and trying to use the mounts but it's not going to work. I should have bought the shocks for an XJ but I got a good deal on them.

    I have some new bilstein 5100 shocks with the correct length for my lift but they are for a Ford F250. The bottom part is bigger than my current shocks but will fit in the lower mount.     You know, after reading so many good things about JCR, I'm kinda disapointed with this product. First of all that same hole did not line up and I had to cut off that part to install it. Then the 3 remaining holes lined up well but they are not welded all the way around, just at 3 and 9 o' clock...

    Trackbar is fairly new and as tight as possible. VahasnoWaves...you were right, I should have made the spacer because the JCR took 13 days to arrive and looked as if someone made it in their garage... But it worked.
