    Stock differential cover magnets?

    The stock cover on my 96 did. I'm not sure about my 99, but I wouldn't see why it wouldn't also. When I upgraded the rear on the 99 to a d44 and swapped the cover with a RockCrusher cover, I don't think the plug was magnetic either. Wasn't really concerned with it to be honest with you :)

    Dahaha. Was able to get wd40 in the latching mechanism and it freed it. Figured it was something more serious, but this thing has been sitting long enough that none of the doors had been opened in quite some time.

    and both axles are pre99... just give it a day or so. I didn't swap any axles. The only thing changed was a 96 hub was put on a 95 housing (complete with 95 axles, etc) :)

    Yeah, the inner shaft was pulled out a little already when I pulled the whole front end at the junkyard and then again when I pulled it entirely to install the new hub. You're thinking the seal was probably torn right? Then that doesn't look like it's the problem as the brakes aren't binding.
