Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

How long did you let it run for? The fan doesn't just automatically turn on with the A/C, rather it cycles on and off occasionally while you're using it.

THE XJ Dana 44, ABS, How-to thread (56K beware)

Damn, I put a lot of time into these write-ups both here and on other forums too...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

No worries hubs, your posts have been more than helpful over the many years you've been part of NAXJA. It was a perfectly acceptable wiring diagram that you posted, it's just that in this particular thread, it was confusing folks who were just skimming through and not viewing it in context...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

The stray 12V+ is likely coming from the factory relay. When the ignition is on, 12V+ is being fed to one side of the factory relay's coil. It is just waiting for the other side of the coil to be grounded in order to activate. My question would be why does the same ground that is completing...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

mechbull... please stop. Guessing at electrical and offering it up as advice only causes confusion and quite possibly damage/fire. MrSimon, connect the dots... According to your diagram, there are two individual circuits in your switch. The circles with the "X" in the middle are your bulbs and...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

I really wish the above referenced wiring diagram had never been posted in this thread, it really did clutter it up and causes confusion as it is in conflict with the idea/intent of this thread. That being said, you can still make your switch light up with the rest of your instrument panel so...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

Glad to see people are still finding this thread useful, 6 years later! The override is still working as intended on my XJ...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

Yes, probably the most common 5 pin relay. Be aware however that there are also 5-pin relays with dual 87's instead of an 87 and an 87a. These are typically used for wiring a pair of headlights (one to each 87 pin) for example and are fairly common as well. Just make sure you get one with an...

    SubThump 10" Box

I Dynomatted mine. It was pretty tricky working inside the quarter panel, but I think it made a big difference. The only buzz I have from the sub is inside the trim piece running above the rear passenger side door. I think it's the SiriusXM antenna wire I ran through it though.

    SubThump 10" Box

My 8" is still rocking strong, even with my crappy little MTX amp. I did manage to crack my speaker grill sometime during the past year however. No regrets with this purchase.

    Intermittent Overdirve

Seems this issue was fixed by rebuilding the NSS as it has been shifting properly ever since. The only variable remaining is that we have not had sub-freezing temperatures all month thanks to this nasty thick fog we've been dealing with. If the problem is in fact temperature related, it is...

    Intermittent Overdirve

Serviced my NSS last night. That's a good New Year's Eve activity, right? So my reverse lights are working again and I was able to clear all the codes. I found my #10 fuse had blown again and I was also able to trouble shoot my radiator fan circuit and determine that there was in fact a loose...

    Intermittent Overdirve

After 15 years of almost trouble free operation, my '99 XJ is finally starting to have some issues. I think I'm already headed in the right direction on this one, but just wanted to make sure as I seem to have some (but not all) of the symptoms of a bad NSS. When I headed to work the other...
