    missing coolant

I put a gallon and a half in yesterday, and I put a gallon in after I changed the I changed the upper hose and the temp valve and all the hoses connected to it in september. The only old hose is the lower hose, but it is dry. Since I put the coolant in yesterday the resevior is empty now. I am...

    missing coolant

my 94 sport smells like burning coolant. I can't find the leak, but it seems like it is coming from the radiator. The wasterpump was new when I bought the car in august. I did notice the rad hose going into the thermostat housing was swolen and the hose was hard as a rock like there was...

    Help it died.

I am my own worst enemy. I reset the computer and checked all the vacuume lines and the one to the map sensor was on the bolt not where it goes. Runs like a top and knock on wood no leaks yet.

    Help it died.

I have worked on this thing for days now. It ran great until I changed the rear main seal yesterday. I went to start it and it ran like crap and would not idle. The oil pressure came up to 60 on the dash gauge. The it would not crank at all and just the brake light comes on.

Re: oil pan out now RMS stuck I have tried the punch (not brass, no one here sells them) I loosened three of the bearing saddles, I tried a heat gun. It doesn't budge. Any other suggestions? Also I obviously got the oil pan off. No one ever told me I had to take the oil pump off in the pan...

    oil pan stuck

Its a 1992. If I take the front pipe loose I might be able to twist ie out of there. It hits there, but I thought it would come out straight back. As for the head gasket if I pull the head should I hbve it decked and rebuilt? That will just piss me off. The manifold gasket and exhaust...

    oil pan stuck

for the life of me I can't get the oil pan out of my 92. I had it loose in an hour with the help of an air ratchet, and spent an hour trying to get it out of there. I have it jacked at the frame adn teh wheels are 6 inched off the ground is I assume that is full droop. I I think if I had...

    Rear main seal

I used about a gallon of simple green and isolated the oil leak. It is infact the rear main seal. or I think it is. The oil is dripping down the front of the transmission. It is oil not atf fluid!! Just curious, I was looking and trying to figure out how to get in there and it looks like I...

    Oil leak

no compression tester, and the radiator and the oil do not have the froth that would lead me to a head gasket. I must say that after putting the new exhaust I got steam and water coming out of it. I did not have that steam this morning when I started it to go to the emissions test. I will...

    Oil leak

thanks for the help I searched for oil pan pan leak with no hits. I guess calling it a sump would have helped. I do not think it is a rear seal, since it looks like chocolate pudding from the front of the engine working back.. What are good jack points? Also is there anything else in the...

    Oil leak

Two questions. I bought a 92 xj 4.0 with many problems so I started with the important first. I replaced the complete exhaust including manifold. I replaced the valve cover gasket. The book says use RTV, but I bought a gasket that fit at carquest. It doesn't leak so I guess that is ok. I...
