    Redline MT-90 ok for rear diff?

    I need to do a fluid swap on my rear end and have a bunch of new MT-90 left over from tranny fluid swap. Wondering if it is ok to use MT-90 in the 8.25 since it's 75W-90 which is what I think the diffs call for? Thanks!

    Gotcha. Curious, what would cause my last XJ, a '99 with 187k to have higher oil pressure at idle than this one with 147K?

    I've had quite a few XJ's but the 97 I just picked up (147k) is the only one I've had that shows 16 PSI at warm idle. At 1600 rpm it jumps right up to 40-45 PSI and operates solidly at 40-45 PSI at anything but idle. Just changed oil (Mobil 1 synthetic 10w-30) and filter just to be sure it...

    Hey, Just bought a bone stock '97 with 4.0 and manual tranny, 147K on the clock. It idles at steady at 700 rpm but has a miss hiccup every second or so.
