Sidewinder CC:
Thanks for the great write up and pictures. One of my 2000's only had defrost and instrument panel, nothing to the floor. The blend door was previously stuck due to a pinhole in the heater core leaking antifreeze, I expected the floor door to be stuck for the same reason...
Thanks md21722. I guess my main concern is that all the gaskets I see, including the one I got, block off the water jacket passages down the exhaust side of the engine. I'm wondering why they put them in to the block and head just to seal them off with the gasket.
I'm replacing the cracked head (0331) and gasket on my 2000 XJ 4.0l. My question is, do I have the right Fel-Pro gasket, Fel-Pro 530-SD? Both the block and head have holes that aren't in the gasket near the bolt holes on the manifold side of the engine. The label on the gasket says 1987-2001...
Are you sure the bushings are bad? When I pulled my '94 apart to change the bushings I found that the spot welds that hold the wiper motor to the bracket had all rusted out. I ended up drilling out the rusted holes and putting in sheet metal screws.
In case anyone else comes across this post with a similar problem, my '94 with AW-4 auto trans was doing the same thing, I could find all gears but not park. Additional symptom was lots of slop in the shifter when shifting into gear positions. If I held the shifter all the way forward, PARK...
Tore the PDC apart this afternoon and found that the green with red stripe wire between the fuse and relay was nearly folded double. I cut the insulation (the wire was broken clean) and soldered it back together. My fan is now working.
Got the Volt Ohm Meter out and did some checking on my '94 Cherokee.
Automatic Trans, 4.0L drives and shifts good.
Cherokee Fuse F15 is good

On both of mine, '85 straight column and '94 tilt column, they both had discoloration on the plastic around the ACC terminal. Knock on wood, the '92 Comanche with tilt column hasn't shown any symptoms.
I'm having a problem with the Power Distribution Center (PDC) on my '94 XJ. The electric radiator fan is not starting, I've traced the problem back to the PDC. If I supply power to relay terminal 87 the fan runs. The problem is that I'm not getting power to terminal 30 on the relay, I checked...
Mines a Microcruise 4 by Rostra Precision Controls that I got from JC Whitney, but the warranty is through Audiovox so it might be the same. The control unit is built into the servo. Funny thing is that the connector is there for the factory control switches mounted on the turn signal stalk...
So I talked to a friend who used to build XJ's and MJ's. The wires are in the harness under the hood, but if cruise wasn't ordered, a different section of harness was used under the dash that didn't have the cruise connector. My friend wasn't sure if there was another tachometer wire available...
I'm adding an aftermarket cruise control to my '92 Comanche 4.0L, auto trans. I need to find the wire for the Tach and it would be nice to find the wire for the VSS from the transmission too (but I do have the kit to mount a transducer to pick up the speed from the drive shaft). The manual...

Thanks for the tip on the 60A Maxi fuses.
I just added a '92 MJ to my fleet, and being old school on alternators, when it didn't work I assumed (yes I know) that the regulator was bad and built into the alternator. I now have a nice new alternator, a spare on the shelf and two new 60A...
